mark fields, ford motor company, i think walking out of the meeting today, i know i come out with a lot of confidence that the president is very, very serious about making sure that the united states economy is going to be strong and we have policies to drive that and i think that encourages all of us as ceos as a make decisions going forward. it was a positive meeting and positive for the united states of america and manufacturing jobs. >> thank you. [inaudible] announcer: union leaders also met with president trump at the white house. the meeting include remarks by the president and five douglas mccarron, president of the united brotherhood of carpenters. >> i'm shauna garvey.
i president of the building trade unions and i have with me some of the president of the other building trade unions in north america. covers best plumbers and pipers and some of our members are rank-and-file members. we had the most incredible meeting of our careers with the president and the vice president and the senior staff when the president laid out his plan about how he's going to handle trade, invest in our and the structure and level the playing field for all construction workers across this country. and it took the time to take everyone into the oval office and show them the seat of power in the world. the respect that the president of the united states just showed us and 3 million of i remember's in the united states, it was nothing short of incredible and we work with him and his administration to help implement
